Intelligence Analysis and Security

This graduate-level subject offers a comprehensive introduction to intelligence analysis and its critical role in addressing contemporary security challenges. Students will explore the history and evolution of intelligence analysis, examining its relationship to policy-making and learn to apply intelligence analysis to specialized areas, including national security, biosecurity, and environmental protection and management. The course will explore foundational analytic methods, including structured analytic techniques, investigative methods, different types and sources of intelligence, the communication of intelligence assessments and estimates and methods for making more accurate forecasts and developing foresight in possible future events and trends.
