Science Knowledge Foundations: Physics

Science is both a body of knowledge that attempts to explain the observable world, and a process by which to investigate it further. In this subject, students will develop a strong understanding of the nature of science as a body of knowledge, including the knowledge systems that have influenced its development. Students in this subject will have chosen to study the physical sciences, exploring fundamental concepts and their evidence base to understand both ‘what we know’ and ‘how we know’ in physics. As they build their knowledge in their chosen scientific discipline, they will apply this to real-world problems and research tasks. The subject is taught through a combination of in-class sessions and interactive online materials.
