Assessment of Ocular Health (OD)

Optometrists play a vital role in protecting and preserving ocular health through comprehensive eye care. A key part of this responsibility is assessing the health of the eyes and visual system to detect abnormalities and diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In this subject, students will receive hands-on training in essential optometric examination techniques used to evaluate ocular health, alongside an introduction to common eye and vision disorders. This foundational knowledge will prepare students to recognize early signs of eye disease and understand the importance of timely intervention in clinical practice.
