Risk and Crisis Communication

This subject provides an in-depth exploration of the strategies and theories underpinning effective risk and crisis communication in a variety of organisational, public, and media contexts. Students will examine the dynamics of risk and crisis perception, the development of communication strategies, and the role of different stakeholders – including government agencies, businesses, and the media – during crisis situations. Through lectures, case studies, interactive discussions, and applied projects, the course will equip students with key theories that can assist in risk and crisis communication practices, such as how to anticipate, plan for, and respond to risks and crises.
