Advanced Video - Studio Production

This subject builds on basic video journalism skills and takes them to an advanced level with an emphasis on live and as-live studio production. Students will work together to research, develop and produce a dynamic and multi-dimensional video program in the Faculty of Arts’ Media Production Studios for potential broadcast on free-to-air television and online platforms. The subject equips students to perform many of the roles involved in studio-based video production, including on-camera tasks - such as presentation and interviewing - and production roles – including vision switching, graphics, floor management and camera operation. The subject culminates in the joint production, of an hour-long program, incorporating live and pre-recorded content, and drawing on the skills acquired by every student throughout the semester.
