Numerical Methods in Engineering

The aim of this subject is to equip students with computational tools for solving common physical engineering problems. The focus of the lectures is on archetypical physical engineering problems and their solutions via the effective implementation of classical algorithms.

• 11. Gain a basic understanding of the computational representation of physical, linear and multi‐domain systems and the numerical approaches appropriate to the systems
• 22. Understand the numerical complexity of programs and its consequences in the resulting computational outcomes

• 44. Gain basic understanding of the role of computational techniques in the practice of professional engineering, including in the design, analysis and validations of physical systems
