In this subject, students will continue developing their knowledge and practical skills for person-centred dental practice in the areas of orthodontics, oral medicine, oral surgery and implants. Students will apply knowledge of disease processes and oral structure and function in the management of skeletal and occlusal discrepancies, pathology and conditions associated with the orofacial complex, oral surgical procedures, and the rehabilitation and stabilisation of the occlusion. Students will explore their scope of practice and collaborative practice with specialist practitioners and other health professionals. Learning activities include lectures, online learning modules, seminars, practical classes in a simulation setting, and clinical observation of specialist practice.
