In this subject, students will evaluate, select, and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to solve complex construction challenges, develop strategic approaches to AI adoption in construction organisations, and communicate AI-driven solutions through professional documentation and artefacts suitable for diverse industry stakeholders. This subject examines the transformative applications of AI across the complete construction lifecycle, from initial design through to post-delivery asset management. Designed specifically for students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds with no programming prerequisites, the subject provides accessible pathways to implementing AI solutions in construction practice. The subject encompasses three integrated themes: (i) analysing foundational AI principles and their strategic implications for construction industry transformation; (ii) critically examining contemporary AI-enabled methodologies revolutionizing construction project delivery; and (iii) applying practical AI tools and methodologies to real-world construction challenges through case-based learning. The subject combines advanced seminar discussions with hands-on workshops, enabling students to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical competency in deploying AI solutions for enhanced construction outcomes.
